Velma B. Kopsky Helfrich

KINSLEY - Velma B. Kopsky Helfrich, 91, died May 18, 1993, at Medical Lodge Rest Home, Kinsley. She was born May 2, 1902, at La Crosse, the daughter of J.U. and Rosa Wilcox Hoofer. A longtime Kinsley area resident, she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley. On Nov. 12, 1920, she married Matthew Kopsky at Hays. He died Oct. 3, 1939. On April 12, 1945, she married Leo Helfrich at La Crosse. He died Feb. 17, 1963.

Survivors include: a son, LaVern Kopsky, Seattle; four daughters, Velma Atkinson, Pleasant Hill, Mo., Vera Peach, La Crosse, Jeane Schmidt, Offerle, and Margaret Pcchanec, Timkin; 22 grandch i l d r e n ; and 38 g r e a t -
grandchildren.

Parish vigil service will be a t 7:30 p.m Friday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Father Dennis Reed presiding. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to
service time Friday at McKillip Funeral Home, Kinsley. Burial will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the St. Nicholas School Endowment Fund in care of the funeral home.
