[N33569] Linda Mussche Konecny
June 9, 1950 ~ November 6, 2022 (age 72)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister Linda Konecny from this life to her next. Linda passed away on Sunday morning November 6, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was listening to "The Greatest Gift" by Andrea Bocelli as she took her last breath. Linda came into this world on June 9, 1950, when she was born to Maxine and Adolf Mussche who preceded her in death. She grew up with her favorite sister, Ellen Emerick, and they made memories they would share for years to come. Linda's goal in life was to have a family and love them with everything that she had. Linda's life really began when she met the love of her life, Eugene Konecny on October 10, 1981. After a romantic courtship, Linda and Eugene married on May 8, 1982. She was a loving and devoted wife, a role that she was born to fill. Their love story created a family of seven with children Lynn, Meghan, Nathan, Aaron and Seth. After Lynn married Shawn Handley, she realized her dream of becoming a grandparent with the birth of Kayla and Anthony (Tony) Handley. The kind of mother Linda was can be described in two words; The Best. She raised her kids to value faith, family and giving. These values will live in her children's hearts forever. It was always important for her to have her family around the dinner table. She created "Kids Day" to help her children realize they were the center of her world. She always made their birthdays special by making a cake and decorating the house. In her role as Grandma, she was able to help raise Kayla and Tony from birth through preschool in place of daycare and she saw this as one of her greatest blessings. She treasured her family above all things. She had talent others dreamed of having. If Linda loved you, she gave you a handmade gift. Those hands created so much love especially for her family. She spent countless hours in her sewing room creating gifts to show others her love for them. Her gifts included, but were not limited to: quilting, sewing, crafting, card making, baking and cooking meals. Her talent was not just shared with family and friends but around the world. This year alone Linda has made dresses for girls in Africa and also quilt blocks for Ukrainian refugees. For years to come those who she left behind will treasure these gifts she had made and remember these talents. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 17, 2022, in St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood Road, South Bend, where she and Eugene were married. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to mass in the church. A luncheon will be held immediately following the mass in the same location. Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church. Online condolences may be left for the Konecny family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
