South Bend Frank A. Wasielewski, 73, passed away at 5:00am on August 1, 2011 in his home, with family by his side.
Frank was born on June 19, 1938 in South Bend to the late Alex and Helen Wasielewski. On September 11, 1971 he married, Sharon (Brewer), she survives along with their daughter, Pamela (Nick) Kruger of South Bend; and by his two brothers, Ted (Mary Jean) Wasielewski of South Bend and Rich (Diana) Wasielewski of Champlin, MN; and by many nieces and nephews. Frank graduated from Washington High School in 1956. He worked as a trades craftsman in layout inspection at South Bend Stamping where he retired in 2000 after 31 years. He was a union leader in the Auto Workers Union Local 5 for 22 years and was on the United Way Executive Board of St. Joseph County and was on the Business Development Committee. He enjoyed all Notre Dame sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs Baseball fan. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be out on the lake in his boat, the Jaws Hunter. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Thursday, August 4, 2011 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2011 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
