David A. Sachman, 64, residing in South Bend, passed away at 5:45 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022, in the Ernestine M. Raclin House, Mishawaka. He was born August 27, 1958, in Michigan City to the late Donald and Rita (Kolasa) Sachman. David moved to the South Bend area in 1969, coming from New Buffalo, MI. On December 13, 1978, in South Bend, David married the former Colleen A. Rader, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, he is survived by his son, Justin (Bethany) Sachman of Elkhart; grandchildren, Avery and Ethan Sachman of Elkhart; sisters, Diane (Greg) Konkle and Debra Pietrucha, both of South Bend; and brothers, Scott (Debbie) Sachman of Niles, MI and Dan Sachman of South Bend. He is also survived by a special niece and nephew, Nikki and Josh Sachman, as well as several other nieces and nephews. David was a lover of all animals and particularly enjoyed their cats, birds and koi fish that he raised in the backyard pond. Most of all, David enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and sharing his love of fishing with them. Memorial services for David will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 19, 2022, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family for two hours prior to services on Saturday in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of David may be donated to The Meow Mission, 2915 E.
