Dec. 10, 1925 - March 10, 2014
SOUTH BEND - Dorothy M. Nawrot, 88, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014, in her home after being comforted by family members. She was born on December 10, 1925, in South Bend, on Poland Street, to the late Nicholas and Antoinette Krojniewski, and was a lifelong resident. On April 23, 1949, she married Daniel Nawrot, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was the youngest of five sisters and two brothers, who preceded her in death. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Debra (Ed) Monhaut of South Bend; and two sons, David (Debra) Nawrot of Mishawaka and Dale Nawrot, who lived with her and took great care of her. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Meredith (David) Atkins, Karey (Mike) Bultinck, Jeffrey, Amy (Greg) Evans, Joshua, Jacob (Michelle) Monhaut, Noah and Rachel (fiance' Jacob); and eight great-grandchildren, who loved to entertain her, Miles, Olivia, Joslyn, Genevieve, Cecilia, Toby, Millicent, Matthew, and a new great-grandchild on the way. Dorothy was a faithful parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, the Seniors Club, and a great volunteer to the church and school. She was also a member of ZB Falcons. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, March 13, 2014, in St. John the Baptist Church, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice (who were ANGELS in our time of need) or to St. John the Baptist Church.
