SOUTH BEND - On November 3, 2016, Gregory passed away after a battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. He was 72 years old. Gregory was born in Stuttgart, Germany on August 9, 1944. He was the oldest of two children, and the son of Wasyl and Ewhenia Lyzun. Gregory is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Lyzun, beloved furry buddy Cooper, daughters, AnnMarie VanDyke (Husband Rob) and Julie Lyzun, son, Paul G. Lyzun (Wife Marcy), three grandchildren, Chelsea Tinker, Caitlin Tinker and Kyle Tinker and sister, Anna Keenan. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. Gregory was a graduate of Western Michigan University, a Certified Public Accountant for nearly 30 years and CFO of Burkhart Advertising until his retirement in 2007. His hobbies included playing bridge with close friends, he was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, watching baseball and football, spending time with his furry companion Cooper, going to the casino, driving his Corvette and making people laugh with his unique sense of humor.He had an eclectic taste for films, and would frequent the movie theater, video store or Netflix for an array of movies to view and share with his family. Visitation will take place at Kaniewski Funeral Home, located at 3545 N. Bendix Drive in South Bend Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass will be held at Christ the King Church Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Center for Hospice and Pet Refuge.
