The funeral for Mrs. Evelyn T. Kennedy, 74, of 3495S CR-800E, Fish Lake, will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. She died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at LaPorte Hospital. Friends may call today at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, from 2 to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.; and Thursday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek. Memorial contributions may be made to Premier Hospice, 109 Longwood Dr., LaPorte, IN 46350. She was born Sept. 9, 1929, in LaPorte to Charles Carl and Verneatha (Emigh) Goethals, and had lived all her life in the LaPorte area. Mrs. Kennedy was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 400. On April 15, 1950, in LaPorte, she married Robert L. Kennedy, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Patricia A. (Michael) Ryan of Union Mills, Jo Marie (Thomas) Faulstich of Mishawaka and Jane A. (John) Bealor of Rolling Prairie; one son, Robert L. Jr. of Fish Lake; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jane Szilagyi of Stillwell and Pauline A. Van Dierendonck of Fish Lake; and one brother, Robert L. Goethals of LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jack Goethals.
