SOUTH BEND - Robert H. Bilinski, 90, passed away Monday in Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Bilinski and Pam Bella, and Patricia Wolf; a son, Robert J; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Holy Family Church, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass.

SOUTH BEND - Robert H. Bilinski, 90, of South Bend, passed away Monday, June 26, 2011, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. He was born on January 1, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Frank and Bertha (Gruszynski) Bilinski. On May 21, 1949, he married Loretta J. Zakrewski, who preceded him in death on September 3, 2001. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Adele Waruszewski, Margaret Lies and Maryann Pye; and by two brothers, Chester and William Bilinski; and three grandchildren, Matthew Wolf, Jamie and Taylor Bilinski. Survivors include three daughters, Carol (companion, Tom Leszcz) Bilinski of South Bend and Pam (Jerry) Bella and Patricia Wolf, both of Mishawaka; a son, Robert J. (Robin) Bilinski of Nappanee, IN; five grandchildren, Shawn (Crystal) Bella and Shannon Bella, both of Mishawaka, Alexis Wolf of South Bend, and Courtney and Trey Bilinski, both of Nappanee; two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Hudson Bella, both of Mishawaka; a sister, Virginia Mackowiak of Granger; and two brothers, Ray (Marty) Bilinski and Edward Bilinski, both of South Bend. Mr. Bilinski retired from the South Bend Tackle Co. as a machinist and foreman after 26 years of service and in 1983 from Dodge Manufacturing Co., Mishawaka, after 16 years of service. He was a WWII Marine Corps staff sergeant and served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357, Bowlers Country Club and Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm today, June 29, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm Thursday in Holy Family Church, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
