Theresa V. Ferro, 75, passed away on July 4, 2022, at Trail Point Village in South Bend. She had been living with dementia for the past year. Theresa was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on February 28, 1947, to the late Ernest and Florence (Kretschmer) Ferro. Spending most of her life in South Bend, Theresa attended St. Joseph Grade School as well as St. Joseph High School. After graduating in 1965, Theresa went to work at the University of Notre Dame in the purchasing Dept, also working for Press Ganey as a data entry specialist. Theresa had many passions in life, she was a devout Catholic and had a special fondness for the Blessed Mother and the Rosary. She liked doing restoration work on statues of Mary. One of her pieces is on display at Marian High School. Theresa was a crafter and well-known for selling personalized miniature Christmas trees. She also had a great love for animals of all kinds. In her later years, Theresa volunteered at the St. Joseph Co. Humane Society helping with adoption events and fundraising endeavors. Surviving is her brother, Dr. Gregory Ferro (Carolyn) and sister Barbara Marriott as well as 13 nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by sister, Rosemary Cingel; brothers, Phillip Ferro, Bernard Ferro and Paul Ferro. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on July 18, 2022, at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN for family and close friends. Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel will be assisting the Ferro family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Refuge, 4626 S.
