John W. Stankiewic
South Bend--John Stankiewicz, 71, of 1815 Sommersworth Drive, died about 8:50 a.m. Friday in his home. He retired in 1982 from Torrington. He was born Feb. 11, 1918, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident. On Oct. 25, 1941, in South Bend, he married Lucille Staszewski. She survives with a son, Kenneth of South Bend; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Keresztesi and Wanda Jackowiak, both of South Bend. He was a member of American Legion Pulaski Post 357 and Senior Citizens Club of St. Casimir Catholic Church. He was a Veteran of World War II. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in St. Joseph Funeral Home where the Senior Citizens Club of St. Casimir will say the Rosary at 5 p.m. A parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
