NORTH LIBERTY - Helen Mae Milner, age 84, residing in North Liberty, Indiana, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Hospice House, South Bend. Helen was born on January 29, 1933 in Roseland, Indiana to the late Frederick and Rose (Hoyara) Hoida. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Stephen Lemanski, who had a large role in raising Helen. Helen has lived in North Liberty for the past 52 years. On April 24, 1965 in South Bend, Indiana, Helen and Kenneth W. Milner were united in marriage. Along with her loving husband, Kenneth, Helen is survived by their daughters, Christine (Michael) Doan of South Bend and Kimberly (Jerome) Sodowsky of Logansport, IN; son, James S. (Connie) Long of North Liberty; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Lemanski and Betty Hoida, both of South Bend. Two brothers, Robert and Eugene Hoida, preceded her in death. Helen was a member of St. Mary's National Catholic Church, PNCC in South Bend where she was active with the Ladies Adoration Society. She loved to bake and strawberry rhubarb pie was her specialty. Helen was formerly employed at Royal Rubber, Harris Manufacturing, secretarial at Allied Insurance and lastly, Montgomery Wards. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Mary's National Catholic Church, PNNC, 1601 W. Sample Street, South Bend. Rev. Charles Zawistowski will preside. Friends may visit with the family and pay their respects on Monday, June 12th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at church on Wednesday. Contributions in memory of Helen M.
