Obituary: Claudia A. Hecklinski
March 25, 1954 -- June 30, 2004

Claudia A. Hecklinski, 50, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, June 30, in her home.

Claudia was born on March 25, 1954, in St. Louis, Mo., to Dr. Joseph and Lorraine Hecklinski. She attended school at Our Lady of Hungary in South Bend.

Claudia is survived by her mother, Lorraine Hecklinski of South Bend; one sister, Mary Ellen (Scott) Mantooth of Old Fort, Tenn.; four brothers, Mike (Nancy) of Atlanta, Ga., Don (Donna) of Birmingham, Ala., Ron (Pam) of Anderson, Ind., and Bruce (Sue) of South Bend; 15 nieces and nephews; three great-nieces and one great-nephew. Claudia had a special nurse and friend, Nancy Pemberton and Mrs. Sena Ruszkowski.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Joseph Hecklinski; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hecklinski Sr.; and by maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Allie Lewinski.

Claudia was a very special person and led a very blessed life. She loved her family and friends tremendously and embraced every day to the fullest. She held a special place in everyone's heart and will be greatly missed!

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, July 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 3, in St. John the Baptist Church, 3616 St. Johns Way, South Bend, with Rev. Laurian Wegner officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
