Ronald J. Schultz, 78, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Ronald was born on June 20, 1944, in Detroit, MI to the late Sylvester & Estelle (Lancaster) Schultz. Ronald is a graduate of St. Joseph High School in South Bend. After high school Ronald joined the United States Army and served for over 32 years. Over the years he worked at Ferman’s Meat Packing and VLS. Ronald was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka and a proud member of the choir where his beautiful tenor voice could be heard. Ronald was always the life of the party who had a gift of gab, always telling stories. He played numerous instruments and loved to play cards. He was an avid Notre Dame football & Green Bay Packers fan. During his free time he enjoyed being outside among his plants and flowers or tinkering and fixing things. His favorite holiday was Christmas which he loved to decorate for. He was also a talented cook. He was an avid animal lover especially his special dog companions. On July 28, 1973, Ronald married the former Lori Gradeless and they were happily married for 39 years until Lori’s death on August 18, 2012. He is survived by his children, Amanda (Steve) Schmidt of Mishawaka, Joseph (Andreea) Schultz of Savannah, GA, and David Schultz of Mishawaka; sister, Sandra (Ron) Olsen; brother, Robert Schultz; and a sister-in-law, Etsuko Ishihara. Visitation will be 5 pm-7 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka with recitation of the rosary at 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka at 11 am, Friday, July 8th with Rev. Chris Lapp officiating. Ronald will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN.
