Mishawaka--August Speybroeck, 81, of 517 W. 10th Street, died at 5p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a brief illness. Born in Denzie, Belgium on Oct. 25, 1891 he came to Mishawaka from Belgium in 1912. His wife Melvina Speybroeck, whom he married in St. Bavo's Catholic Church on June 9, 1917, died Sept. 26 of this year. He was a member of St. Bavo's Church, the B.K. Club. Post 161, American Legion and A Veteran of World War I.
Surviving are a son, Cyril Speybroeck of Mishawaka; four daughters, Mrs. Clarise Gerstbauer, Mrs. Martina Cackowski, Mrs. Rachel Schafer and Mrs. Lorraine Van Vooren, all of Mishawaka; a brother and three sisters in Belgium, 10 greanchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10a.m. Saturday in St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30p.m. Friday.
