SOUTH BEND - Suzanne Kobek, 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Memorial Hospital. Suzanne was the middle of three children born to Julius and Anna L. (Joanis) Kovach in South Bend, Indiana on June 23, 1943. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Hungary Grade School and St. Joseph High School in South Bend, IN class of 1961. Suzanne married Alex A. Kobek on September 18, 1965 and is preceded in death by her son Alex A. Kobek, Jr.; and survived by her husband Alex A. Kobek, sister Juliann Bartoszewicz, brother Julius Kovach, Jr., son David Kobek, daughter Suzie Pangallo, “surrogate son” JP Frame, 5 grandchildren; Brandon and Cody Panallo of Mishawaka, IN; and Maya, Jun, and Jackson Frame of Kent, WA. Over the years Suzanne touched so many lives through her kindness of heart and dedication to others. Suzanne was a loving wife, affectionate mother, loyal friend, and caring neighbor. In 1984 she started Suzanne's Floral and raised a family while running a robust business. Suzanne and Alex enjoyed traveling and spending time at Willow Shores on Baldwin Lake in Union, Michigan. Her infectious personality and beautiful smile endeared her to all and so many lives have been touched by her kind manner and willingness to give of herself for others and her community. Hers was a life well lived as she is remembered by so many for the legacy of love and caring that she leaves with us to carry on in her honor...and her smile! The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses at Memorial Hospital and The Center for Hospice for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:30am Saturday, December 30, 2017 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 9:30am until services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care. Alex & Suzanne Kobek
45th Anniversary

Alex & Suzanne Kobek celebrated their 45th anniversary with a private dinner. The couple married in Our Lady of Hungary Church in South Bend on Sept. 18, 1965. Mr. Kobek graduated from Western Michigan and retired from IBM and Eastman Kodak. Suzanne retired as owner of Suzanne's Floral after 22 years. They are blessed with three children, David Kobek of Grants Pass, OR, Suzanne M. Pangallo of Mishawaka and Alex Jr. (deceased); and two grandchildren, Brandon & Cody Pangallo.
