Donald L. McCarty, 88, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Saturday July 11, 2015 in his home. He was born on September 16, 1926, in Mishawaka, to the late William E. and Elvy (Chadwell) McCarty. On November 8, 1947 he married Ladema C. O'Donnell, who survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Rosemary (Kennith) Arwood of Mishawaka and Frances K. McCarty of South Bend; two sons, Donald A. (Geanie) and Matthew L. (Donna) McCarty, both of Mishawaka; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen (George) Bemis and Lindy (George) McCreary both of Mishawaka and Betty Thomas of Mishawaka; and a brother, William (Rebecca) McCarthy of Osceola, IN. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth McCarty on March 27, 2000. Mr. McCarty worked as a Cement Finisher for Reith Riley, Valley Construction, Reeds Construction Co., John Wright and Sons and Whitcomb and Keller.
Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
