Surviving are his parents Mr. & Mrs. Leonard J. Derda of Niles, three sisters, Miss Susanna Wilson of Mishawaka, Mrs. Robert [Rebecca] McKee of Niles and Mrs. Gerald [Diana] Orosz of South Bend, a brother, John C. of South Bend and grandparents Mrs. Maria Massarin of Niles & Mrs. Joseph Derda of South Bend.

Burial: Highland Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, USA
