NORTH LIBERTY - Kenneth "Kenny" Breen, a lifelong area resident of North Liberty, Indiana, died Thursday evening, December 15, 2011, in his home after an extended illness with his loving wife by his side. He was 55. Born on April 17, 1956, in Elkhart, lndiana, he was the son of the late John E. and Betty (Bruggner) Breen. In the summer of August 6, 1999, in Walkerton, Indiana, at Saint Patrick's Catholic Church, he married his wife and best friend of 25 years, the former Julie Nimtz, who survives. Other survivors include his brother, Michael (Yvonne) Breen of St. Joseph, Michigan; 5 nephews, Chris (Jennifer) Breen of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pat (Stacie) Breen, Sean, Cory and Kelly Breen, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a great-niece, Avigail Breen. He will be missed by his wife's family, Susan (Craig) Hartzell and Tom (Monica) Nimtz, both of South Band, lndiana, and John (Carolyn) Nimtz of Coral Springs, Florida. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, his biological father, Patrick Hurley, and his brother, Patrick Breen, who died on August 2, 2010. Kenny was a machinist with Federal Mogul of South Bend for 17 years and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish near Lakeville, Indiana. He was also a former member of the Harley Owners Group. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in honor of Kenny's memory, 11:00 a.m. today, December 20, 2011, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 63568 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, Indiana, (574) 291-2826, with Father Charles Oyo as celebrant. The family will receive friends in the narthex of the church 2 hours prior to the Mass. There will be private burial services at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Indiana, at a later date. Box 193, Westville, Indiana 46391; or to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60707. God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around you, and whispered "COME TO ME". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Kenny will forever be missed by his many friends and loving family. May God grant him eternal rest. RIDE FREE! ZIMMERMAN-INMAN FIINERAL HOME of 1109 Lincoln Way West, Osceola.
