SOUTH BEND, IN - Norbert V. Kopinski, 88, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 in Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 14, 1930 in South Bend to the late Frank X. and Mary (Budnik) Kopinski. On October 6, 1956, he married Mary Ann Gudates, who survives. Norbert is also survived by one daughter, Nancy (Greg) Schultheis of Mishawaka, Indiana; one son, Mark (Susan) Kopinski of Mishawaka, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Cameron) Troxell, Kelly (Terry) Heatherly, Kara (Dexter) Henry, Brett (Ana) Kopinski, Kasey Schultheis, Coley Schultheis, and Erin (Adam) Crecelius; and five great-grandsons, Brady, Braxton and Camden Heatherly, Carter Henry, and Bennett Troxell. Norbert also has one great-granddaughter due in February. Other survivors include his sister, Dorthy Jeske of South Bend, Indiana. Norbert was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed playing the lottery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10:30 am in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church.
