South Bend Tribune fall1913

Piasecki was found at his home last night with the gas jet of the kitchen stove turned on full. He was 60 years of age. After a Quarrel with Mr. Piasecki his wife and daughter left the home early sunday afternoon. When they returned at 10 pm last night they found him on the bed and the house full of gas. He had put a quarter in the prepaid meter to ensure a sufficient to lead to his death.

The Church record at St.Hedwig bore the following notation in Latin..."Crapela factus et notorius infidel"...There was no mass said on his behalf but he was allowed burial.
