Robert F. Widup, Sr., 91, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away at 10:50 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Memorial Hospital. Robert was born on June 23, 1924 in Warsaw, Indiana to William and Mildred (Silveus) Widup. He had lived in New Carlisle, Indiana since 1973, coming from South Bend, Indiana. He retired in 1983 from the Bendix Corporation, where he was employed from 1950 - 1983. On January 21, 1946, in Mishawaka, Indiana, he married Vivian Taylor, who preceded him in death on April 21, 1963. On February 10, 1966, in the Wishing Well Wedding Chapel, Las Vegas Nevada, he married Maryann Glon, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Christine (Rick) Creswell and Deborah (Christopher) Galvas both of South Bend, Indiana and Tamara (Jeffery) Wiggins of Canyon Lake, Texas; three sons, Robert (Susan) Widup, Jr. of New Carlisle, Indiana, Michael (Linda) Swift of Greenwood, Indiana, and Timothy Swift of Granger, Indiana; seventeen grandchildren, Jennifer (John Bacarro) Sarsfield, Angela (Robert) Sears, Katie (Cody) Everett, Rebecca (Steve Johnson) Widup, Tori Creswell, Justin Creswell, Kevin (Alicia Estrada) Galvas, Jacob (Lindsay) Swift, Megan (Ben) Brooks, Nicholas Swift, Lucas Swift, Seth (Kiri) Wiggins, Keenan Wiggins, Travis Wiggins, Troy Swift, Emily Swift, and Hannah Swift; twelve great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Jayden, Hailey, Josh, Morgan, Brady, Avery, Joseph, Camden, Tyson, Emma, and Annabelle; and one great-great-granddaughter, Aria. Robert was preceded in death by one sister, Eva Maxine LaFree; and one brother, Donald Widup. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Entombment will follow in Highland Cemetery, where members of the American Legion Post #284 will conduct Military Services. A visitation will take place from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Robert was a W.W. II Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, coin collecting, and Notre Dame and Indianapolis Colts football. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle Fire Department, P.O.
