Stevens Point Daily Journal | Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Tuesday, February 26, 1929
Aged 79 years and one of the oldest residents of Portage county, was found dead in bed at his home, 216 Jordan road, when the family attempted to awaken him this morning. A couple of months ago he was seriously sick, but apparently recovered from this illness and during recent weeks appeared to be in good health. On Monday he assisted one of his sons in shoveling snow and seemed as well as usual when he retired last night. Mr. Witkowski was born in Poland but emigrated to this country when a young man and settled on a farm in the town of Alban. Several years ago he sold this place and moved to Stevens Point, where he had since been living in retirement. Besides his widow, there survive nine sons and daughters, Matt of Big Falls, Minn , Mrs. Arthur Suchon and Ted Witkowski of Muskegon, Mich , Mrs Anna Armatowski of Custer, Leo of Alban and Vincent, Casper, Joseph and Edward Witkowski of this city. A brother, Joseph Witkowski, lives in Alban.
