Vernon W "Pete" Schalliol, son of Julius G. & Matilda (Harter) Schalliol 1st married Violet C. (Woolet) Schalliol (1912-1939), daughter of Marion Woollet on 30 Jan 1931 in South Bend, St Joseph, Indiana. They had 5 children: Phyllis, Clifford, Velma, Kenneth and Eunice. 2nd married Edna May (Holderbaum) Schalliol Wilhelm, daughter of Arthur & Gertrude Marie (Wise) Holderbaum on 21 Apr 1941. They had no children. Divorced 14 Aug 1946. 3rd married Lillian "Bubbles" Joyce (White) Schalliol on 23 Apr 1953. They had 3 children: John, Jody and Betsy.

Vernon W. Schalliol, 78, 306 E. Harrison St., Wakarusa, died at 10:34 p.m. Saturday in Elkhart General Hospital where he was admitted earlier that evening.
A native of Wakarusa, he was born April 21, 1904, and was married in 1931 to Violet Woolet. She died in May 1939. He was married April 23, 1953, to Lillian Joyce White who survives. Mr. Schalliol retired in 1972 from the Henry Weiss Co., and was a member of Wakarusa United Methodist Church. Also surviving are four sons, Clifford V. Schalliol, Elkhart, Kenneth Hamman, Argos, John and Jody Schalliol, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Billy (Velma) Polston, Elkhart, Eunice Moore,Mishawaka, and Betsy Schalliol, at home; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Dora) Fredricks, Wakarusa, and Irene Ehret, LaGrange. Three brothers, Roscoe, Harve and Jesse, and three sisters, Alva Hoover, Cora Hygema and Maude Hunsburger, preceded him in death. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lienhart Funeral Home and until the 2 p.m. service Wednesday. The Rev. Harold Kratzat, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ, will officiate at the 2 p.m. service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the charity of donor's choice.
