MISHAWAKA - Joan E. Trzybinski, 70, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross Nursing Facility. Joan was born August 16, 1945, in South Bend, to the late Blazej and Regina (Grocki) Trzybinski. She was also preceded in death by her Busia, Stefania Grocki. Survivors of Joan include her siblings, twin sister, Jane Slock, Marie Gerencher, Valentina Sobecki, Irene Ison of TN, and Eugene (Carol) Trzybinski; god-children, Jon Slock and Janine Dudzinski; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Joan was a graduate of Central High School, and earned her Bachelor's Degree from I.U.S.B. She retired in 2013 from St. Joseph Visiting Nurses after 26 years. Joan was a parishioner of St. Monica Catholic Church, where she was Eucharistic Minister and a member of A.R.I.S.E., Rosary Society, Association of Marian Helpers. She was also a member of The Golden Clusters at St. Hedwig Parish. Joan enjoyed traveling, art, music, going to the movies, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed breakfasts with her lady friends. Most of all, Joan especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, Aug. 24, in St. Monica Catholic Church, with one hour visitation prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Church, 222 W.
