John L Nettrouer, 86, of County Road 4 in Middlebury, Indiana, formerly of North Brookfield Street in South Bend, Indiana John was born on August 6, 1919, in Lakeville, Indiana, to Andrew B and Clara R (Beyler) Nettrouer. He retired from the former Portage Oil Company where he delivered oil and was also a farmer on the family farm. On September 20, 1952, John married Helen J Tobolski, who preceded him in death on December 16, 1994. On November 29, 1997, he then married Frances May Jones, who preceded him in death on August 14, 2003. Surviving are 5 step children (children), 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. John was the youngest of 14 children and was preceded in death by all his siblings. John was a WW II Army veteran where he received two Bronze Star medals. He loved going out to eat, took special care of his yard, loved playing with his grandchildren, and was a big kidder with a heart of gold. Friends may call from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, February 11, 2006, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday following visitation. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
