My grandfather was Walter Stephen Stuglik. He was born on December 18, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana. You wrote that he was born on Beebe Rd., but he was actually born in South Bend. His family moved to Beebe Rd. in Niles, Michigan sometime in the 1920s I think. I think he was about 5 years old when they moved. Teresa Stypczynski was born on Beebe Rd.

In 1955 Walter Stuglik married Lennis Laverne Townsend. They had a daughter, Cynthia Angela Stuglik, on October 21, 1960. Cynthia is my mother.

Walter Stuglik's father was Josef (Joseph) F. Stuglik. He married Mary Magdalene Plonka in Poland. I think his birth year was 1887. Mary Plonka was born in 1885, I think. I'm not completely sure of Mary and Joseph's birth years since I'm going by my memory. I would have to look at the records at home, but I'm away at college right now.

Josef (Joseph) F. Stuglik's father was Jan Stuglik, but I do not know his birth year.

My grandfather would tell me stories about his family. From what I was told, Josef (Joseph) Stuglik served in a military in Europe. I do not know if he was in the Polish military, Prussian military, or what. He came to America because land in Poland was scarce at the time. A relative told me that Josef's wife did not want to leave Poland, but stayed when Josef went to America. However, she ended up going with her husband after being persuaded by her priest. Josef was her husband and she had to go. From what I understood, they spent some time living with other Polish immigrants in Detroit, and moved to South Bend later. They then moved to Beebe Rd. in Niles, Michigan and bought a farm where they lived the rest of their lives. Josef died in 1941 and Mary died in the early 1960s.
