SOUTH BEND - Hildegarde Beasics, 91, passed away at 9:50 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013, at the Bremen Health Care Center. Miss Beasics was born on October 12, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Horwath) Beasics. Two brothers, Steven and John Beasics, also preceded their sister in death. Miss Beasics was a graduate of Lakeville High School and attended business school in South Bend before becoming a secretary at Bendix and joining the family farm business. In her younger days, she was very active in the Indiana Rural Youth Organization. Miss Beasics has been a faithful member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Miss Beasics is survived by her nephew, Dr. Carl J. (Mary Ann) Christensen of Walkerton; great-nieces and nephews and their families, Karen (Fernando) Araujo of Chicago and their children, Anna and Ben; Carl C. Christensen of Chicago; Patricia (Matthew) Rees of Chicago, and their children, Jackson and Liam; and Amelia (Kevin) Hyde of Chicago, and their children, Faith and Farrah. Miss Beasics is also survived by her faithful canine companions, Dukie and Scottie. She didn't know a stranger and had many cherished friends and neighbors who faithfully visited her. Among these special people is her compassionate caregiver, Christi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lakeville. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Contributions in memory of Hildegarde Beasics may be donated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 63568 U.S. 31 South, Lakeville, IN 46536; or to the LaVille High School Future Farmers of America, c/o LaVille Jr.-Sr. High School, 69969 U.S. 31, Lakeville, IN 46536.
