NEW CARLISLE - Mrs. Delores Aldean Ward, 85, of New Carlisle, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 2, 2012, at Hamilton Communities, Inc. in New Carlisle, IN. She was born October 31, 1926, in LaPorte Co., Indiana, the daughter of Glen Butler and Vera (Stoner) Butler. Delores was a member and loved attending Sauktown Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. Delores was church clerk and taught Vacation Bible School, worked in the kitchen, and was a member of the Joyful Encouragers of the church. Delores was an avid Cubs fan, loved mushroom hunting, gardening, and tending her flowers. She also enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables. Delores taught her children and grandchildren the love of Jesus Christ through her sweet spirit and Christian example; she loved her Lord and every night you could hear her whispering her prayers for all those she loved. Thank-You Mother for leaving your family and friends your love and beautiful memories. On February 8, 1947, in Rolling Prairie, IN, she married Henry Ray Ward, who preceded her in death December 10, 2001. She is survived by her two sons, Myron R. Ward Sr. of LaPorte, IN, and Robin (Debbie) Ward of Niles, MI; two daughters, Laurel Kublick of New Carlisle, IN, and Thelma (Larry) Truex of New Carlisle, IN; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Hope Harris of Rolling Prairie, IN; and one brother, Dewaine Butler of Rolling Prairie, IN. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Donna Hasty, granddaughter, Lauri Lynn Kublick, two sisters, Lillie Good, Helen Pease, three brothers, Raymond Butler, Albert Butler, Walter Butler, son-in-law, Fred Kublick, and daughter-in-law, Sharon Ward. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 2012, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST & at the Sauktown Church of Christ on Saturday, July 7, 2012, 10:00 am CST until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Sauktown Church of Christ on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 11:00 am CST, with Pastor John Riggs officiating. Interment will follow at Sauktown Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sauktown Church of Christ, 8751 E. 150 N., Mill Creek, IN 46365.
