Richard J. "Rick" Karmolinski

SOUTH BEND - Richard J. "Rick" Karmolinski, 79, of South Bend, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. Rick was born May 22, 1935, to the late Walter and Sophia (Kalka) Karmolinski. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Sue Jay and Ron Karmolinski. On February 9, 1981, he married Judith Keller, who survives along with daughters, Amy Hysell (Jim) of Phoenix, AZ, Shiela Rosansky and fianc‚, Michael Linn of South Bend; sons, Mark Karmolinski (Cathy), and Dennis Karmolinski (Jan), both of Mesa, AZ, Kenny Karmolinski (Chris) of California, and Wade Keller (Cheryl) of Mishawaka; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Rick is also survived by six siblings, Evangeline Berggren of Muskegon, MI, Vickey Guentert (Norm) of Niles, MI, Christine Lesisk (Dale) of Edwardsburg, MI, Denise Roberts (Jim) of South Bend, Thomas Karmo-linski (Sandy) of Elkhart, Greg Gorski (Pat) of Nebraska; and his half brother, Walter Karmolinski of Westfield, IN. Rick retired from Skyline Corp. in Elkhart where he worked as a cabinet maker in the RV industry for over 20 years. Rick served in the United States Army and belonged to the American Legion Post 50, Clay Democratic Club, Korean War Vets, and AMVETS, Post #1978, Niles, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 SR 933 North. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 22nd, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. A parish Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions in Rick's memory may be made to the AMVETS, Post #1978, 1117 E. Bertrand Road, Niles, MI 49120.
