DOWAGIAC -- Eleanor Marie Klapchuk, 74, of Dowagiac, died of natural causes at 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at her home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Groner Funeral Home, Dowagiac. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, at the First United Methodist Church, Dowagiac, with the Rev. James Tippin officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Dowagiac Elks or Dowagiac Loyal Order of Moose.

Eleanor Marie Gleason was born on Jan. 15, 1927, in Cassopolis, to Jasper and Lenore (Underwood) Gleason. She was a 1944 Cassopolis High School graduate. She attended St. Camillus School of Nursing at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947.
