SOUTH BEND - Barbara J. Sobierajski, 73, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009, at 9:15 p.m. in Noblesville, IN. Barbara was born on August 5, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Paul and Gladys (Piotrowski) Lukavich. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Lukavich; and by her sister, Christine Lukavich. She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Kimberly) Sobierajski of Plainfield, IL, and Brent (Ann) Sobierajski of Noblesville, IN; four grandchildren; and by her brother, Jerry (Kathy) Lukavich of Springfield, MO. Barbara worked for Robertson's Department Store, and then did clerical work for Cloud Brothers after Robertson's closed. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 6, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Visitation will also be from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the service.
