SOUTH BEND - Irene M. Toth, 90, passed away at 8:05 am on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 in the Hospice House. Irene was born July 27, 1922 in South Bend to the late John L. and Mary (Borsodi) Toth. Irene is also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen E. Toth, Mary Toth, and Anna Drake; and a lifelong friend, George Kruszewski. Irene is survived by a sister, Margaret Kozak of South Bend; brother, Albert A. (Connie) Toth of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews. Irene retired from the A & P Grocery Store after 36 years of service; and she was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hungry Catholic Church. Irene was a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews, a lifelong animal lover, especially to Misty and Murphy, and she enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardening. Visitation for Irene will be 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, January 6, 2013 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Our Lady of Hungry Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
