- Joyce E. Menefee, 61, of Grovertown, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at her residence. Joyce was born January 17, 1959 in South Bend, to the late John and LaVerne (Moskwinski) Stevens. She graduated from North Liberty in 1977 and then went on to graduate from Purdue University with her associate degree in nursing. August 24, 1996 in North Liberty, she married Terry Menefee; he would precede her in death on April 12, 2016. Joyce worked for over thirty years with the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and most recently awarded the Daisy Award for excellence in nursing. She currently was working at the hospital in Plymouth in the ICU as a critical care nurse. On top of working full time, Joyce took care of her husband, Terry at home, who had ALS. Surviving are her three sisters and a brother, Connie (Greg) Hudak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Gail (Dennis) Clark of Indianapolis, Anita (Bruce) Lawhorn of Carmel, and Dan (Barbara) Stevens of Coatesville, Indiana and ten nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her close friends, Nila Holderman, Melissa Strange, Nadine Nufer, Julie Manns and Becky Jones-Edison, and her beloved pet, Sheeba. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Graveside services will be private at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.
