BUCHANAN - Jewell D. Bodtke, age 74 of Buchanan, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at West Woods of Niles. She was born December 2, 1938 in Bragg City, Missouri to the late Alton & Mildred Skaggs Coffman who preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Thomas Coffman of Monet, Missouri and her husband Kenneth Bodtke, whom she married on August 23, 1957 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Other survivors include two daughters, Joyce (Michael) Eddy of Niles & Sheryl Russell of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one son, Keith Bodtke of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Jewell was the office manager for seventeen years at the former Food Specialties SVC Corp. in Buchanan. Years ago she was an active member at the Bend of the River Conservation Club. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, loved birds, flowers, doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and playing Tetris. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 PM. at the Portage Road General Baptist Church, Niles, Michigan.
