BERRIEN CENTER, MI - Ross E. Hopson, 83, of Berrien Center, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Ross was born on June 12, 1937, in Dungog, N.S.W., Australia to the late Leslie and Bessie (Shelton) Hopson. Ross served in the Australian Military, served a six-year apprenticeship in watchmaking, and became a Master Horologist. His entire working career was in jewelry-making, and repairing and restoration of fine timepieces. Ross was also involved in the restoration and dealing of Steinway pianos. He moved to America 57 years ago. Ross is survived by his brother, Geoff Hopson and his sister, Dawn Byron both of Australia; and a friend of many years, Jack Hartsell. A Graveside service will be held at Sumnerville Cemetery in Pokagon, Michigan at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Feb. 13. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
