SOUTH BEND - Dolores Paar, 83, passed away at 9:40am Saturday, December 13, 2008 in her sons residence.
Dolores was born on May 4, 1925 in South Bend to John and Frances (Stachowiak) Arndt. She was a homemaker and also had been employed by Lentschs Bakery. Dolores was a member of the D.F.V. German Club Ladies Auxiliary and loved to play euchre. On July 3, 1948 she married Robert S. Babe Paar. He died on February 27, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Alfreida Woods and Doris Hullinger and a brother John Arndt. Surviving are two daughters Linda (Michael Mahar) Paar-Welcome of Silver Springs MD and Doris Paar of Santa Rosa, CA; two sons Robert Bob (Linda) Paar and James Jim Paar both of South Bend; 4 grandchildren Jim, Jessica, Jacob, and Rachel; 3 great-grandchildren and two sisters Rita Seifert of South Bend and Jane (John) Porogi of Barefoot Bay, FL. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Tuesday in the funeral home where a rosary will be recited at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
