SOUTH BEND - Jerome Ozdyck, 73, of Canterbury Drive, died at 4:25 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Care-West after an illness. Mr. Ozdyck retired in 1986 from St. Joseph County Library and was a former employee of the Oliver Corp. and Studebaker Corp. He was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Manistee, Mich., and lived in South Bend most of his life. In 1952 he married Virginia Nowaczawski. She survives with a daughter, Carol Sue Bernard of Cincinnati; two sons, Richard-Raymond Alasko of Chicago and Christopher Ozdyck of South Bend; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Celia Jozwiak, Esther Gorski and Eleanor Ryan, all of South Bend, and Lorraine Forycki of Omaha, Neb.; and two brothers, Aloysious ''Al'' of Walkerton and Emery of South Bend.
He was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Z.B. Falcons, American Pulaski Post 357, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, was past president of Chain-O-Lakes Conservation Club and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a parish vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Northern Indiana Chapter.
