[N33367] Donnabelle Kehoe Marozsan
May 04, 1927 - Apr. 02, 2017

GRANGER - Donnabelle Marozsan, 89, of South Bend passed away Sunday morning, April 2, at Bell Tower Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mishawaka after a long illness. Donna was born May 4, 1927 in Mentone, Indiana, the daughter of the late Francis And Mary (Nellans) Kehoe. She graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 1945 and moved to South Bend, where she met and married John Marozsan in 1949. Their union lasted 34 years, until John's untimely passing in 1983.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Esther Wise of Mentone. She is survived by her three children - Teresa Ann Smith (Robert) of South Bend, Tina Corley (Terry) of Ovilla, Texas, and George Michael Marozsan (Audrey) of Calera, Alabama. She also leaves her two sisters-in-law, Adeline and Dolores Marozsan, both of South Bend, seven beloved grandchildren - Elaine Williams, Trisha Arceo, Sommer Braswell, Paul Marozsan, Terry Corley, Jonathan Smith, and C.J. Braswell - as well as nine great-grandchildren and dozens of nieces and nephews. Donna was employed at the South Bend Gas Company and later the J.C. Penney downtown store. In 1978 she took a position as a switchboard operator at the University of Notre Dame. For more than 30 years, her familiar voice greeted thousands of callers with a cheery, “Good evening, Notre Dame!” Donna's life revolved around her family, her work at the university, the tidy home on Notre Dame's campus where she lived for more than half a century, and her handicrafts, which included beautiful hand-stitched quilts. She was also a longtime member of Currant Road Church of Christ.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, at the Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road in South Bend. A funeral service will follow at noon, with interment at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the Center for Hospice Care, whose staff and nurses were devoted caregivers over a long period. E-Mal condolences may be made at www.Welsheimer.com
