MISHAWAKA - Helen A. Desimone, 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at home.
Helen was born on September 1, 1934, in Chicago, IL, to Edward and Evelyn (Gour) Rauscher. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Darlene Bowens and Pearl Ripplinger.On July 22, 1950, in Roseland, IN, as the former Helen Rauscher, she married Ross W. Desimone; he preceded her in death on August 1, 2008, after 58 years. Now they are together again. Surviving are five daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Schmitt of South Haven, Michigan, Cathy Desimone of Mishawaka, Toni L. Desimone of Mishawaka, Deana (Mark) Ebling of Osceola, Kelley S. Desimone of Mishawaka; eight grandchildren, Kelly, Jodi, Marc, Jenny, Jerry, Adam, Amy, Josh; eight great-grandchildren, Kimber, Taylor, Cayden, Mikayla, Joshua, Siyara, Trinity, Gage; and two sisters, Mildred Redburn of Florida and Margaret Young of Mishawaka. Helen was a stay-at-home Mom and loved being with her children and grandchildren, watching them grow up. Helen and Ross were residents of South Haven, MI, from 1964 to 1976, and moved back to Mishawaka in 1976. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Visitation will be on Friday, August 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ross.
