EDWARDSBURG - Herbert Joseph Radics, Sr., 76 years old of Edwardsburg, MI, passed to his rest April 20, 2016, at his home with his family by his side, after an illness. He was born Aug. 21, 1939, in Mishawaka, IN, the son of Joseph and Lola (McNutt) Radics. Herbert served his country by serving in the United States Army and was a life member of the Cassopolis Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10704. He was a builder of large yachts in Tampa, Florida, and enjoyed playing the guitar as a musician as well as singing with bands and combos. He loved Country Western Music. He got great pleasure from going to the casinos for fun. Mostly he loved being with his family and his grandchildren. He was married May 7, 1965, in Mishawaka, to Patricia Riege, and she passed Sept. 10, 2005. Surviving are his children, Herbert Radics, Jr. of Edwardsburg, Kathleen Wegner of Edwardsburg, Darlene Radics of Edwardsburg, Juanita Radics of Niles and Christy Radics of Edwardsburg. There are 20 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Shirley Heiden of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Linda Radics of Las Vegas, NV; and two brothers, Kenneth Radics and Robert Radics, both of South Bend. Family who preceded him in death are his beloved wife, Patricia, his parents, two sisters and one brother. Family and friends may gather on May 12, 2016, from 6-8 PM at the South Side General Baptist Church, 1615 S. Spring Street, Mishawaka, for a Memorial Service that will start at 8:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor John Fisher. Cremation has taken place. The United States Army Honor Guard will play the TAPS and fold the American Flag after the service. His cremains will be inurned at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, beside his dear wife, Patricia, with a private service by his family. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, P. O. Box 24, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0024, to assist the family with funeral expenses. Published in South Bend Tribune on May 8, 2016
