SOUTH BEND - Frank J. Buczolich, 88, residing in South Bend, passed away at 5:22 pm Sunday, May 12, 2013, in Memorial Hospital. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on May 17, 1924, to the late Paul & Victoria Buczolich. He had resided in the Michiana area most of his life. On November 30, 1946, in South Bend, Frank married the former Margaret Nagy, who preceded him in death on April 20, 1999. On March 17, 2001, in Lakeville, he married Evelyn M. Davis, who also preceded him in death on March 17, 2011. He was also preceded by his daughter, Sharon A. Custer on June 16, 2005; as well as three brothers, Michael, Matthew and Paul Buczolich. Frank is survived by one son, Frank S. Buczolich of Bloomington, IN; and one sister, Rose Sauer of South Bend. Frank was a self-employed brick mason for over 55 years. His handiwork can be seen on countless local homes and churches and numerous public buildings and monuments. Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army during WW II. He was a lifetime member of DAV #19 and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lakeville. Funeral services for Frank will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 16, 2013, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 7:00 pm today, May 15, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of Frank may be donated to the American Cancer Society of North Central Indiana, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
