Stanley P. Kownacki, Jr, of Rolling Prairie, formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on the morning of Monday, December 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley P. Sr and Jean (Grabowski) Kownacki and his brother Michael Kownacki. He is survived by his wife Laura (Guzan) Kownacki, sons Kyle (Lauren) Kownacki and Corey Kownacki, daughter Stacy (Gabriel) Tennis, granddaughters Adelaide Tennis, Penny and soon to be sister Baby Kownacki, and his sisters Carol (Ken) Kerner, Sharon Eickelberry, and Karen Kownacki, and numerous nieces and nephews. Stanley retired from construction five years ago and began driving a delivery truck until August 2022 when he retired for good. In his youth, Stanley’s passions were playing for the Chicago Heights Broncos semi-pro football team and hunting and fishing. When his kids came along, he coached many of their teams and was very involved. In later years, his greatest loves were taking his three golden retrievers everywhere he went, and most importantly being the best Dziadzia to his baby girls. He was always willing to help anyone in any way he could, and he will be greatly missed.There will be a graveside service on Saturday, December 17th at 12:00pm central time at Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek, IN.
