Marion Wruble

Marion Wruble, 81 of E. Monroe Street, South Bend, formerly of Mayflower Road, passed away in his home on Friday, Feb. 14. Marion was born in Oct. 16, 1921, in Warsaw, Poland, as the son of Frank and Francis (Ciegelka) Wruble. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Alphonse and Frank in 1952 and two brothers Edward Wruble in 1927 and Thomas Wruble in 1998. On January 3, 1942, in South Bend, he married the former Alice De Clercq, who survives along with their daughter, Kathy (Bob) Hillebrand of Granger; three sons, Tom (Linda) Wruble of Plymouth, Ind., Tim Wruble of South Bend and Terry (Debra) Wruble of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Aimee Portteus of Plymouth, Christy Isger of Indianapolis, Jason Wruble of Mishawaka, Beth Alkire of Mishawaka and Katelynne Hillebrand of Granger; nine great grandchildren, Josiah, Ella and Elizabeth Portteus, Klayton, Taya, and Kaleb Alkire, Sian Wruble, and Abigail and Anna Isger. Also surviving are five sisters, Pearl Stawnik of South Bend, Angie Campoli of South Bend, Jean Bojtor of South Bend, Florence Martin of Griffith Park, Ind., and Rosemary Bennett of Mishawaka; two brothers Stanley Wruble of South Bend, and Harry Wruble of Niles, Mich. Marion was a lifetime area resident. He was worked for the South Bend Community School Corp as Lead Custodian for 17 years until he retired in 1984. Marion was a United States Army Veteran. He served his country during WW II and the Korean War. He was a member of the West Side Church of Christ on Edison Road, he was a member of the VFW Post #360, the U.A.W. Local #5, he was a past musician Union # 268, and was on the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Ferguson, from Church of Christ, Plymouth officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Osceola.
