April 25, 1927 - May 1, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Beverly Nowostawski, 86, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in her home. She was born on April 25, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Stephen and Sophia (Zalas) Jaronik. On September 30, 1950 she married Frank X. Nowostawski, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. (Steven) Conard of South Bend; her son, Len (Donna) Nowostawski of Bridgman, MI; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Roosevelt) Brooks, Heather Farmer, Michael Nowostawski, Jon Szczepanski and Karen (Gerald) Heath; two great-grandchildren, Sylviana Farmer and Jennarose Brooks; and by her sister, Florence (Marson) Kelly. Mrs. Nowostawski worked at St. Mary's Convent before her retirement. She was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, South Bend. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday in Holy Cross Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. To send online condolences, please visit www.kaniewski.com. The battle is over-the fight is done. She was strong till the end, but cancer had won. Along the way many great memories were made to cherish. She will live forever in our hearts. Tending her flowers, yelling BINGO, looking for the unique GW original or shopping at Meijer brought her great happiness. Another joy was her family-from her grown children and grandchildren to her great-granddaughters to her canine companions, Cee Cee and Boogger. She will be greatly missed!
