GRANGER - Loretta K. (Todd) Peczkowski, 92, of Granger, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Loretta was born September 4, 1922, in South Bend, to Louis and Mary Black. On January 31, 1949, in South Bend, Loretta Black married Frederick William Todd, who passed away March 12, 1982. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Rotondo, Rita Gundeck and Helen Ostroski; and brother, Louis Black. On October 19, 1984, in South Bend, Loretta married Joseph L. Peczkowski, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Patricia Todd of South Bend and Colleen (Randy) Stilley of South Bend; son, Timothy F. (Linda) Todd of LaPorte; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and two stepchildren, Andrea Bellairs (John) Lauer of Surprise, AZ, and James (Cathy) Peczkowski of Twin Lakes, WI. Loretta had worked as a secretary at Memorial School of Nursing, Ave Maria Press, Indiana University and Notre Dame. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Loretta loved people and would befriend anyone she met. She loved animals and flowers, enjoyed snow skiing, swimming, playing golf, and attending a musical play, but mostly loved and enjoyed her children and family, which was the most important thing in her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2822 Corpus Christi Drive, South Bend, with Father Daryl Rybicki officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 19th, at Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. In Loretta's memory contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association , 55 East Monroe Street, Suite 3420, Chicago, IL 60603.
