Married Christoph 'Christopher' Engle on the 13 of August, 1877 in St Joseph County, Indiana. They settled in Volinia Township, Cass County, Michigan and owned a farm on Gard's Prairie Road! They were the parents of 11 children: John, Anna, Andrew, Frank, Arthur, Ben, Mary Anna, Katherine, Margaret, George & Rosa! Sadly, Pauline and Christopher divorced the 28th of April, 1911! She was very active on the farm, especially when it was just her and sons, Ben and George at home!

VOLINIA - Cass, MI

Mrs. Pauline Ingalls died very suddenly of heart disease at her home south of the store Saturday. Her sons Ben and George went fishing in the morning leaving their mother in her usual health. When they returned home at about six o'clock in the evening, there was no fire and Mrs. Ingalls was apparently away from home, but upon investigating they found her lying just outside the back door and from all appearances she had been dead since sometime in the forenoon. Mrs. Ingalls has made her home in this vicinity for a good many years and has raised a large family of children, all being married and away from home, but the two sons mentioned. The body was taken to South Bend Monday for funeral and burial by the side of a daughter, Maggie. The family have the sincere sympathy of every one in their sorrow.
