Joe T. Wiley, 91, of Mishawaka, died Wednesday November 16, 2016 at the Center for Hospice Care in Elkhart. Joe was born October 13, 1925, the son of Preston S. & Mae (McMillen) Wiley. Joe was raised in Dunlap and was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. On January 23, 1946 he married Theresa G. La Jeunesse in Seattle. Joe was employed by the US Postal Service for most of his working life, starting as a Railway Mail Clerk, then at the South Bend Post Office and retired from the Edison Park Station in 1980. He went on to work for Notre Dame and retired again in 1987. Retiring to Florida, he lived in Mulberry FL until returning to Mishawaka in 2001. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie DeFrees. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Theresa G. Wiley of Mishawaka and their children, Steve (Nancy) Wiley of Mishawaka, Sherry (Doug) Steffey of Kingsford Heights, Tom (Terry) Wiley of Goshen, Janet (Tom) Teller of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren & 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services 11:00 Monday November 21, 2016 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, where friends may call from 10-11am. `Calling also on Sunday from 1-5pm in the funeral home.
