SOUTH BEND - Surrounded by four generations of his beloved family, Francis “Bud” Ritter, 93, gently departed this life on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. He lived a long and happy life. Bud was born and raised in South Bend as one of twelve children and was a graduate of Riley High School. He was a proud veteran after having served in the Navy during World War II. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Louise, and five children: Carol (Charles) Pajakowski, Barbara (David) Lundberg, Randall (Marylou), Jeannie (Ezra) Appleman, and John (Shellie). In addition, he had nine grandchildren, Kristen (Michael) Peter (Lori), Christopher, John (Sara), Amy (Michael), Brian (Danielle), Catherine (Peter), Kevin (Reanna) and Tzivia, and eighteen great-grandchildren.
A private family burial took place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, IN assisted the family.In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Francis Ritter may be offered to the V.F.W. Post 360, 1307 E.
