[N8168] James E. Redd, 80, of South Bend, IN passed away at 6:25 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at Hospice House. He was born on October 24, 1932 in Tyronza, AR to Early Lee and Hattie Mae (McClaine) Redd. On March 24, 1949 in Martree, AR, he married Vivian Minges who preceded him in death on October 13, 2007. On July 5, 2008, in South Bend, IN he married Dolly Stephens.

Mr. Redd is survived by his wife, Dolly Redd; daughter, Shirley Ann (Max) Kring of Dover, TN; step-daughter, Kimberly Vaszari of Bremen, IN; step-son, Patrick Dopieralski of Lakeville, IN; two grandsons, Aaron and Dylan Vaszari; one great granddaughter, Breana Vaszari and brother, Joel Redd of TN. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Vaszari; two sisters, Edith M. Jones and Annie Lou Cox and two brothers, Early Lee Redd Jr. and Roy Redd.

Mr. Redd moved to South Bend, IN from Arkansas in 1953. He retired in 1994 from Sibley Machine & Foundry after forty-one and a half years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Rev. Edward Vegh and Rev. John Doss will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
