James J. Bagarus, 71, passed away at 7:30 pm Sunday, September 5, 2021 in his residence surrounded by his family. Jim was born on July 18, 1950 in South Bend to Julius and Lorraine (Moskwinski) Bagarus. He served his country in the United States Army (82nd Air Borne), and was employed by AM General for 41 years, retiring in 2013. His loved working on his corvette, going to the casino and Notre Dame football. On February 4, 2021 he married the former Mona Wordinger who survives along with 4 sons Cory (Val) Bagarus and Brock (Sarah) Bagarus, Troy (Becky) Futrell and Todd (Deanita) Futrell, 16 grandchildren Alexis, Ashley, Mariah, James, Julius, Cora, and Braden, Joe, Jacob, Rachel, Zach, Halie, Eliccia, Paetyn, Whitney, and Brandt numerous great-grandchildren, and two sisters Carol (Neil) Huffine and Linda Fassler. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren Shawn and Amber and a sister Diane Lewandowski. Per Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
